Health, Safety, & Environment
OUR SAFETY COMMITMENT TO YOUNeorion Synergy is committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public, and to minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment. We believe that all near misses, incidents and accidents are preventable, we also believe goal zero is attainable and we are committed to continuous improvement in our HSE performance.
Health and Safety:
- We will comply with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- We will provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. This includes maintaining safe and clean workspaces, ensuring proper ventilation and lighting, and providing appropriate training and supervision.
- We will identify and assess health and safety risks, and implement measures to control or eliminate these risks. This includes conducting hazard assessments, implementing safe work procedures, and providing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- We will provide our employees with appropriate training, supervision, and PPE to ensure their safety on the job. This includes both initial training as well as ongoing training to ensure that employees are up-to-date on the latest safety procedures and regulations.
- We will investigate all accidents and incidents, and take corrective actions to prevent their recurrence. This includes conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to address any underlying issues.
- We will involve our employees in health and safety matters, and encourage them to report any concerns they may have. We believe that our employees are our best resource for identifying and addressing potential health and safety risks.
Environment:
- We will comply with all relevant environmental laws and regulations, including the Environmental Protection Act and the Environmental Protection Regulations.
- We will minimize the environmental impact of our operations by implementing best practices and adopting environmentally-friendly technologies. This includes reducing our use of natural resources, minimizing waste and emissions, and properly managing hazardous materials.
- We will prevent pollution and minimize waste by adopting sound resource management practices. This includes recycling and properly disposing of waste materials, and implementing conservation measures to reduce our use of natural resources.
- We will work with local communities to minimize any negative impacts of our operations. This includes consulting with community members, addressing any concerns they may have, and being a good neighbour.
- We will regularly review and assess the environmental performance of our operations, and take corrective actions where necessary. This includes setting environmental targets and monitoring our performance against these targets.
Responsibility:
- The management team is responsible for the implementation of this HSE policy and for ensuring that adequate resources are available to support it. This includes providing the necessary training, supervision, and PPE to employees, and ensuring that all HSE policies and procedures are being followed.
- All employees and contractors are responsible for following this HSE policy and for complying with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations. This includes following safe work procedures, wearing required PPE, and reporting any potential HSE violations to their supervisor or the HSE department.
- Any employee or contractor who witnesses or becomes aware of a potential HSE violation is expected to report it to their supervisor or the HSE department. We encourage employees to speak up about any concerns they may have, and we have a zero tolerance policy for any intentional violations of our HSE policy.
HSE Policy Reviews
This HSE policy is intended to be a living document that is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure that it reflects the latest best practices and regulatory requirements. We are committed to continuous improvement in our HSE performance, and we welcome feedback and suggestions from all stakeholders.
